Generally speaking, if you have a TWRP installed and you know what you're doing - you're pretty safe to try to update any of the Tolino devices to newer FW. Just do not forget to backup existing fw, and edit updater-script in update.zip to exclude flashing of uboot and recovery.

This is my problem. I do not know, what I can do with TWRP and how to handle it.
TWRP is the custom recovery, you can flash it into recovery partition in fastboot mode and then if you boot into recovery, you can make a full (nandroid ?) backup of the device. I unlocked my TVHD4 only once, did a TWRP backup and then restored it on other TVHD4s ...

TWRP was ported to Tolino by Ryogo, you can see here https://forum.alles-ebook.de/showthread.php/6808-TWRP-for-Tolino-Vision-4-HD?p=85150#post85150.
there is also a link to github.
I also installed the SU user using TWRP as it was somehow not possible directly on FW 11.2.3 and 12.2.0
